Simple stamps bring great blessings
God has wonderful ways of turning simple gifts into great blessings. The LCA’s Stamps for Mission project has raised nearly $447,000 and all proceeds are donated to LCA International Mission programs and projects.
In 2020 these projects include:
- Support for the Sprau family, Papua New Guinea, who are serving as medical personnel with Wycliffe Bible Translators
- Courses on Lutheran distinctions, Myanmar
- Translation of Lutheran theological resources
- Lutheran Highlands Seminary at Ogelbeng in Papua New Guinea
- Indigenous young people living in Sabah in Malaysia
- Home of Grace, Thailand, which supports unmarried pregnant women, mothers and babies
This is possible due to the dedication of volunteers who collect, clean, package and sell the stamps. There are several ways you can join in God’s mission through Stamps for Mission:
- Get your used stamps to one of our wonderful volunteer stamp receivers or drop them into the LCA Churchwide office (page 40, LCA Yearbook 2019)
- Volunteer to soak off stamps that have been donated. This is currently an urgent need
- Become a stamp receiver
If you would like to donate used stamps, soak off stamps or become a stamp receiver, please phone Peter Nitschke on 0418 868 103 or email to pmnitschke@bigpond.com
