Hymnbooks with Supplement needed
The LCA/NZ’s Commission on Worship (CoW) is calling for donations of second-hand, good-quality copies of the combined Lutheran Hymnal with Supplement for use by Australian Lutheran College among others.
CoW chairperson Pastor Adrian Kitson says the hymnal with supplement is currently out of print and that the cost of the short print run needed to meet demand is prohibitive.
‘CoW believes that it is important for the church to have the current hymnal available for purchase because it is more than a hymnal – it is our prayer book and it provides a foundation to our worship life in terms of its content of songs, hymns and our liturgical shape’, he says. ‘We encourage all congregations to keep some hymnbooks on hand, but if your congregation has surplus copies in good condition, there is a demand for second-hand copies.’
Surplus copies of the Lutheran Hymnal with Supplement can be sent to Australian Christian Resources at 5C 256 New Line Rd, Dural NSW 2158.
Australian Christian Resources (ACR) will sell the hymnbooks via their website for $5 a copy to cover storage, postage and handling. Email ACR at marks@shopACR.com.au with any questions.
