Share your Lutheran youth experiences
If you have been involved with Lutheran youth groups or organisations in Australia or New Zealand any time over the past 70-plus years, then the Friends of Lutheran Archives (FoLA) wants to hear from you.
As part of its Lutheran Youth Australia-New Zealand Oral History project, FoLA is inviting people of any age who belonged to Lutheran youth fellowships and participated in youth activities to make an audio recording of their reflections on those experiences.
Recordings can be made on a mobile phone and should be no longer than 10 minutes per person in length. They should feature basic information such as your name, when you were involved and where in Australia or New Zealand you were part of a Lutheran youth group, event or organisation and which group or groups. Details about activities, adventures, relationships formed, the names of others involved, the names of inspirational people encountered and the opportunities enjoyed in mission or vocation, would also be appreciated. Please provide the audio files in either MP3 or WAV format.
Some topics participants in the project might like to cover include:
• Bible studies and devotional life
• Chairing and participating in meetings
• Community service
• Disciplines of writing and reporting
• Faith development
• Friendship
• Leadership and treasurer training
• Matching – for life!
• Money raising/support for others
• Stability and unity as part of a group
• Social life
There is also an option to submit a written account.
Call FoLA committee member Pastor Malcolm Pech on 0429 139 353 with any questions. You can send audio files and documents to him via email at malcolm.pech@lca.org.au or post documents or recordings to Lutheran Archives at 27 Fourth St Bowden SA 5007.
