The annual Local Mission appeal is coming
Young leaders – our hope and joy
This year’s Local Mission appeal focuses on developing our young adults in faith and leadership. Your donation will help us find and support the young adults in our midst, like Elsa and Joel, whom God is calling into service in the church.
Joel Grieger is one of our church’s youngest pastors. He was ordained last year and was assigned to the country parish of Bordertown. He’s thriving there. He’s found his calling.
Elsa Matthias is a young adult ambassador with Lutheran World Federation. She’s helping to shape how the global Lutheran church speaks and acts in a rapidly changing world.
There are many young people like Joel and Elsa in our church who are passionate about Jesus and eager to serve him. We only need to encourage them to be involved and open up ways for them to use their gifts.
Father in heaven, we thank you for the young people in our church. Protect them and bless them and give them opportunities to join with you in your mission. Help us to be encouragers of young adults, freeing them to pursue their passion for you and ministry. Give us, and the young people we know, eyes to see your kingdom. With Jesus as our brother, we pray. Amen.
