Spirit of respect marks first framework gathering
Almost 70 people came together in a spirit of mutual respect and enthusiasm at Cummins on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula on Sunday, for the first face-to-face gathering of the Preparation and Prayer phase of the LCANZ’s Way Forward project.
The meetings, which are being held in the coming weeks across all districts of the church, offer attendees the chance to hear a presentation about the Way Forward Framework to be voted on by General Synod in October, as well as the opportunity to discuss the information and ask questions, all in a setting of prayer and worship.
South Australia–Northern Territory District Administrator Angela Rogers said the Cummins presentation was positively received by the gathering at St Paul’s Lutheran Church and that the 68 people of all ages who attended had some ‘great conversations’.
‘People engaged really well and appreciated being informed’, she said. ‘And everyone was very respectful, even if they did not all agree with each other.’
Contact your District Office for more information and to register for an event. Current details for the gatherings are available on the Way Forward website here, along with a variety of prayer, worship and pastoral care resources.
